Dr. AJ has completed additional educational courses related to golf and has been certified by the Titleist Performance Institute. He has also taken several additional courses to perfect his physical assessment and rehab process related to runners. Dr. AJ uses his expertise in hands-on manual therapy along with a vast knowledge of movement correction to get the best out of his clients. He uses the appropriate higher level programming to bridge the gap between traditional Physical Therapy and Performance Training in a comprehensive whole-person approach.
In his free time you will find him on the golf course, spending time with family and friends, at the gym, or reading a book.
Dr. Hunter Johnston PT, DPT, ATC, CSCS
Physical Therapist
Hunter received his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in athletic training, where he spent time evaluating and treating athletes on the BYU football and men’s volleyball teams. He then attended Eastern Washington University where he received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
His experience as a runner and triathlete, in addition to completing various courses specific to running help Hunter appreciate the mental and physical complexities of endurance sport injuries. He is a firm believer that our bodies are strong, robust, highly adaptable, and can change for the better with a few deliberate nudges like hands-on therapies and exercise.
Hunter chose to join the team at Pinnacle Performance and Wellness as their model of care promotes a long-term relationship between therapist and patient, and encourages treating the whole patient instead of just the knee, hip, shoulder, or back. Whether you are a skill athlete, strength athlete, endurance athlete, or self-proclaimed couch potato–this model plus Hunter’s ability to combine principles of athletic training, strength and conditioning, and physical therapy means patients can progress far beyond just “baseline” or “normal”.
When not in the clinic, Hunter enjoys doing any activity on two wheels, training for an upcoming race, listening to books, and trying to convince his wife Savannah that watching Tour de France highlights can be fun.
